Guest guest
I will be starting the diet myself on Friday. I needed to get a few more things together and make sure I have a handle on everything. Then, in about a week or two I will be starting my children. I decided to do it this way so we aren't all having sugar withdrawal at once. I hope my theory works. Guest guest
I know that a few of you are eating like your ASD child/children. But wanted to know, how many parents are eating SCDiet? Antoinette and family of Five (SCD 2/06)
Guest guest
Mom & dad both are SCD in this house in support of our 13 yr old son. Just made it waaaaaay easier IMO for the house to be a SCD legal only house. Besides it is a healthy diet. - Zachariah age 13 - dyslexic, dysgraphic, extremely picky eater (these are what brought us to SCD) SCD 1-1-07 AND I might add that our son has spontaneously written several things in the last 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The writing is neat and legible - all in straight rows on a no-line paper - still many misspelled words BUT he has also taken to playing with a " Spelling Ace " and challenging himself in how to spell words. A Spelling Ace is a small handheld device - you type in a word and it will give you various words / spellings to chose from. Curiosity I know that a few of you are eating like your ASD child/children. But wanted to know, how many parents are eating SCDiet? Antoinette and family of Five (SCD 2/06) [ . Guest guest
I originally started the diet to handle my own health issues and put my kids on it as well, believing it to be healthy and good for them anyways, then later I realized/discovered all my son's issues. Now the focus of doing the diet is for my son, but myself and my daughter are still benefitting from it as well. I wish my husband would/could follow SCD. He has gut issues too. I am at least going to start making him eat the yogurt. :-) I believe that if we hadn't started the diet when we did, my son could have probably ended up with a diagnosis of Asperger's, as it is now he is just ADHD. I think most parents of ASD kids would find the diet benefits themselves as well. It is my belief that the majority of people in the modern world today have at least some level of dysbiosis. I'm curious to see other's responses..... K Hashi's, Fibro, CFS, yeast/candida, copper overload, adrenal fatigue (mostly healed!!!) kids: son Rhowan 5 yrs old, chronic diarrhea/loose stools, yeast/candida, ADHD, salicylate intolerance, daughter Willow 6.5 yrs old, mild GI issues, salicylate intolerance Started SCD June 2006, went off for awhile in Nov 2006, back on SCD starting May 2007. (Today is DAY THREE of our intro diet) > > I know that a few of you are eating like your ASD child/children. Guest guest
Hi Antoinette- We are new, only 4 days in, but I too am doing the diet along with my boys. My husband and 16yo daughter are having to eat SCD at home (as I am allowing no " illegals " in the house) but of course they are on their own for lunches outside of home. Guest guest
We're living a diet nightmare here. We have twelve children and have been raw food vegans for the past six years. We saw great improvements in my autistic son when we adopted that diet, but we were never able to clear up his diarrhea, which he had since birth. We realized nuts were a big contributing factor to his diarrhea, so when we removed them, there went his calories. He was very tiny for his age and was not gaining weight, so we felt forced to add meat to his diet. We have found it nearly impossible to do this diet for him without the meat. Then one of my daughters was on an extended round of antibiotics and developed a yeast problem, so we have her on the diet as well. When I was researching the yeast problems, I realized that another daughter had the symptoms of yeast, too, so she is also on the diet. Right now we have three on SCD and the rest of us high raw vegan...makes for an interesting dinner. Oh, by the way, my autistic son who has been SCD is also blind, so he doesn't see that we are eating some things differently than him. Curiosity I know that a few of you are eating like your ASD child/children. But wanted to know, how many parents are eating SCDiet?
