Guest guest
, I'm very happy for you. I tried doing the part time thing, but way too soon. But even though I didn't succeed, during the time I worked I felt so much better mentally, just knowing I was trying to rejoin the real world. Try to go slow and rest when you need too. I wish you all the luck in the world and know you will do well, you have my prayers and good wishes. Keep in touch to let us know how you are doing. Guest guest
, I wish you the best too, but let's not forget poor Marleen who started a full time job yesterday, I can imagine her exhaustion the first day after work. Learning a new job is tough and mentally exhausting even when you are well. I hope both of you succeed as I know in Marleen's case anyway, it is of necessity that she return to work, I believe she is even still on IV too. Hugs, Marta NJ >From: Namkrats3@... Guest guest
Hey, whatever it takes to get them to take the action they should be taking without being badgered. " A " word: darn I thought you were talking about accountability... nah, I knew better. Best of luck to you. Let us know how it goes! Toni ( ) Wish me luck I have the meeting with the child study team bright and early tomorrow and need all the luck and positive thoughts I can get! This is the same school district that I've been badgering since November, and only when I mentioned the " A " word (attorney) did I finally get someone to listen to me. It should be interesting, and the fact that my attorney used to be the attorney for the school district years ago is a definite asset, and something that actually scared them into action. Guest guest
A local therapist/mom of PDD Nos kid started a support group. I head to my first meeting tonight after several false starts. I can handle anonymous email groups, scary detox and regressions when I can point to cause but in person emotional sharing may be pushing it too far. Still, I want to stay married, get revved up for DAN testing, find new recipes and support others. Let's hope that is what this will accomplish. Guest guest
HI all, Thanks for the good wishes. Though I knew starting out that 30 miles was not happening, I knew there was someone waiting at various intervals to pick up folks that were done. I did the first 6 miles. I started the 7th and felt a twinge in my back. I decided to quit while I was ahead and nurse it. My son,11, quit then too and then surprised us all after lunch at the 15 mile mile point to try and bike it back. He made it another five. I slept on a cot in a tent for two nights and went on countless walks. All and all it was a successfull weekend. I am still tired though. Thanks C > > I do wish you well and am mighty impressed! Guest guest
Val,Remember when walking any, and I mean any distance caused massive pain, so going 6 miles, BRAVO. And you have to know hiking, and uneven paths, and trying to do it at a pace with the unfused, isn't like doing it at home an a treadmill or a sidewalk, so 8 miles is a HUGE accomplishment, and I'm so proud of you, and your wise decision not to press it too far. This will be a wonderful memory for your son, and huge accomplishment for you, and hopefully a tale to tell your doc when you see him next, they love to hear " I did this " stories from their patients, because of the work they did. Kumar still gets those stories from me each year at Christmas, it's the gift that truly keeps on giving, with moments we get back with family, and physical accomplishments.
