Guest guest
Hi Terri: Good luck in getting all of your things together. I know it seems like it takes forever, but once you finish the packet you will feel great. Make sure you keep copies of everything just in case. Also, make sure you take a copy of your on-line form with you to clinic or you will have to fill it out again. Bummer, it's long.Best advice I can give is about surgery is to do everything Dr. R says and you will do fine. Also, especially during the time you are on liquids, make sure to drink your 2-3 tablespoons every 20 minutes. Carry a bottle of juice or gatorade with you everywhere. I was not taking in enough fluids and got real weak and dizzy 4 days after surgery. Once I started drinking enough I felt much better. Again, good luck and take care. Guest guest
Thanks do you mean the insurance form that I filled out? We have to do it again at the clinic? I'm really glad you told me that-Now I know to take that info with me also. Terri in Louisburg
Guest guest
Hi everybody my name is Jean and I have been reading you postings for the last couple of weeks but this is my first time posting. I have really enjoyed reading about your experiences, especially the gassy ones! I have a question that I hope someone can answer. I sent in my patient information by e-mail the other day and recieved my confirmation back. My question is about the insurance letter I recieved later that day. It clearly states that the policy is not to send in the insurance letter until our packet is approved. It then goes on to say that they are asking us to send in the insurance letter instead of them. At the same time they sent me the insurance letter asking for pre-approval for my surgery. Am I supposed to hold on to that letter and send it in later(after my packet is approved) or am I supposed to go ahead and send it in now? I know this is really long but I am really confused on this part. Thanks Jean
Guest guest
Jean, Go ahead and send the insurance letter. Both your insurance company and Dr. R can be working on approval at the same time. It may save you some time when it comes to scheduling your surgery. You sound like you will fit right in, especially since you like the " gassy " posts! lol I recieved the same letters. It does say you can contact your insurance company on behalf of Dr.Rutledge's office. This is what I did. I said I was from Dr. Rutledges office and needed pre-authorization for one of his patients. They took all the info including, name, address, phone,CPT codes and the next day they called the patient (me) asked me for my height/weight/BMI and said I was approved. If you wait for Dr. R's approval you may have to wait awhile for insurance approval. I was too anxious to know if they would approve me. I felt fairly certain Dr. Rutledge would approve me....sooner or later!!! Joni MGB 12/22/00 232/150/
