Guest guest
Curiosity! WOW....what a turn out! I am so pleased to see others doing this as a family too! Our two dogs and cat are SCD on the most part too! The only ones in our house that eat grains are the birds....their bodies can handle it! I found it cool that Carol and others think of their pets. It is truly sad how the SADIET affects even our poor pets...cows...steers....horses.... Starches and Grains....where truly meant for the birds! Our dog and cat eat EVO Innova. It is a Grain free food for dogs and cats. For those who don't want the potato in it (which Innova has)....google RAW diets for CATS or dogs. MANY sound and healthy home made recipes out there that are SCD. For our SCD cat lover who was wondering about her kitty and the junk in the foods... Cats have to have adequate amount of Taurine a very important Amino Acid that felines have to have or else they can go blind. So make sure you study this one if you make a home made kitty diet. Guest guest
Our family is also SCD along with our two boys. My husband has lost his big, bloated belly and acid reflux. I finally got rid of a fingernail fungal infection that I struggled with for months prior to SCD and have lost a few pounds. We both feel better and feel we are better able to care for our boys. We do not at all feel deprived and the recipes in the three SCD cook books that I have bought have been so easy and SO delicious! Our cats eat either Evo or Origen Cat food which is grain free. Guest guest
By that same token, in retrospect it was not fair for us to drag our oldest daughter into SCD (one more way autism infringes on her life from her perspective), so thanks to the person who suggested the coleman cooler for vacations. We keep it hidden with her small stash of illegal foods (basically a loaf of bread!) and plan to use it when we hit the road again. I am also storing things in there that I want rationed out to the SCD kids so they don't know how many we actually have in the house. At night I just grab the next day's portion of the SCD " goodie " and move it to the big fridge. They have no idea that the cooler exists -- it's hidden under a desk. - Unwin wrote: Re: Curiosity ] We have not quite started the SCD diet as I'm trying to get everything straight first, but we have never eaten anything that our son can't have. When he went GFCF so did we. When he later gave up soy, so did we. None of us eat artificial preservatives or colors. Now we will be SCD along with him as well. It's not fair to tell your kids they can't have something then chow down on brownies and pasta when they go to bed! I want to know how he's feeling. -- > __________________________________________________________ TV dinner still cooling? Check out " Tonight's Picks " on Yahoo!
