Guest guest
Hi all, I am so sorry that I've been offline for so long. It's been a combination of bad pain and depression and when I've got one or the other, I tend to avoid going online, though I know I shouldn't. So, of course, my email messages have backlogged majorly. I've got about 1300 emails so I'm only going to look at those that are addressed to me if I can and then delete the others, though it will take me time to weed through them. So don't expect any quick replies from me anywhere in the near future. Added to that, my brother got married so I was out of town for a few days going to that in the middle of all this pain and depression. I think I'm going to have to start seeing my psychologist again as the depression has been going on since the end of May. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@... Guest guest
We have missed you Kimber. I am so sorry that the marriage of your brother came with so much discomfort to you. I understand entirely how disabling depression can be. I seem to go that route from time to time myself. You may recall tht I have posted many times how being diagnosed with a chronic life long conditon can send us all into a mational tailsping. Much like how one feels when loosing a loved one. We may go through depression, anger, denial, acceptance over and over again since there is no closure. Its perfectly normal to feel that way but I am glad you are talking with somebody about it. That helps tremendously. I have often thought about it myself. Even after having the total with auto islets I still fight that emotional roller coaster. This condition can sometimes make us feel as tho we are alone in dealing with all the turmoil and life changes we must endure. Please dont think that you are alone for one second. You are not by any means. We are with you every second of every day. Also you have helped me and so many other people on here countless number of times. Your advice and support is immesurable. I have said many times that I would not be here today if it had not been for all of ya'll. You certainly dont have anyting to apologise for in the least. I do hope you feel better soon and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Warmly,
Guest guest
Angie, thanks. I'm doing somewhat better and I'm sorry that you are going through the same thing. Depression and pain are both difficult to deal with and are much worse when they come together. Hope things get better for you soon. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@... Guest guest
, thanks for you post. Yes, chronic illness is definitely hard to deal with and depression is one of the things that is common with it. I had a period just after I went on total disaability that I was seeing the psychologist at my pain management clinic and I think I'll probably go see him again in the near future. I think another reason it hit so hard is that I've been having a problem with my right hand that has made it impossible for me to do my cross-stitching for over 2 months and I've been using that to keep me busy since I went on disability. I was finally able to see a orthopedist yesterday and I had what's called " trigger finger " . The finger sticks when bent and then get sore around the knuckle on the palm area and then radiates up the finger until it hurts all the time, which is what happened to me. Losing that activity kinda threw me into a tailspin I wasn't prepared for. Luckily, all that's needed to fix it is a cortisone shot and put the finger in a splint for a few days.
