Dear Bonita,

I hear ya! YOU said: " My husband and I are both DESPERATE with a

capital D. "

I will give window into what our house was like 16 months ago...and

you see if you want to try " fanatical " SCD to help your son?

My 4 year old son was making HOLES in the walls in tantrum...he could

not sit still and was always irritable. At pre-school he was labeled

the " bully " . He was BIG and had no true signs of GI problem. But

suffered occasionaly from D and C. HE could not concentrate and we

feared the next thing...the diagnosis of ADHD.

My daughter was diagnosed with moderately severe autism, CD, IBD and

seizure disorder, osteopenia, and sensory intergration

dysfunction....she had delierum seizures 2 to 4 times a night, would

not talk...would not allow us to touch her...screamed when she was

not sleeping....and even screamed in her sleep....never had hugged

us....and had failure to thrive and was not growing. This including

her finger nails and hair.

My adopted daughter suffered from Hyperekplexia. Said to not have a

cure.

My husband was irritable, threw his own tantrums....was not sleeping,

and had horrible gas and a BIG bloated " beer belly " without the beer.

I was truly slipping into significant mental illness. I had severe

Celaic Disease that was not responding to GF/CF diet and was becoming

desperate. I was becoming " alergic " to the world! I feared I might

loose my family. My bone scan showed osteoporosis at the age of 37!

How is this for desperate with a capital " D " .

Today...my now six year old son is able to sit calmly and has proven

to have a gift in math. He is starting 4th grade math this year

(first grade). He no longer throws rage attacks. When he does get

angry he is more " typical " for a kid his age. His allergy symptoms

have vanished along with his Diarrhea.

Kiki is now 3 years old. Soon after starting SCD she started to

verbalize, she noticed the sky, the birds and trees for the first

time. She smiled, and her delierum seizures VANISHED. A few days

ago she evaluated as only being a year behind in speech. She gave me

her first hug two months into the diet! And dad got his first hug at

30 months. WE can now wash her hair and touch her. Her hair is

growing and her nails need cut often! She still has issues (BUT

NOTHING like we came with)...they think that she has mitochondrial

disease...but I know that we will find continued solution. Her last

EGD and biopsy showed that her CD and IBD are healed! Her last CDSA

showed no gut disbiosis!!!

Bubbles...our adopted 2 1/2 year old daughter's Hperekplexia has

Vanished...and nobody knows why. I think I do! Either that or a

misdiagnosis. LOL!

My husdband sleeps better than he has in a life time...he no longer

is mean, nor throws tantrums...and his bloated tummy is GONE!

I am the last SCD miracle...my CD symptoms are gone, and much of my

chemical sensitivity and allergies to the world are in control...and

believe it or not...I can hold a CAT! I use to be terribly allergic

to them. My " mental " illness is gone. My brain fog is gone and most

of my memory problems are gone. My hair has never been thicker. I am

no longer taking psychotropic drugs. My psychiatrist has let me go!

THEY now think that I might be Asbergers instead of mental ill! This

is funny to me! I Have never been as happy or in sound mind. I can't

imagine life without SCD!

HOW is that for modivation to try SCD?

Now we did do it " fanaticaly " and by the book. I highlighted my

book. Chapter 9 and 10 saved us. The first few months are rough! I

warn you. WE came very addicted. But the solution is THIS SIMPLE.

All I can say is WOW. Not near as many people here in my hope, but

the chaos and mind altering chaos sounds familiar. We came to this

state of chaos from other states of chaos. It's been several things

after several more things for 9, going on 10 years.

We all have allergies. My husbands allergies since his accident and

subsequent health failure have far surpassed those of any of his

family. I have been wondering how his physical condition, heavy

meds for pain and nerve damage, long work hours (as he HAS to

support the family since I'm the only one who can handle our son,

husband has neither the paiience or physical ability to do it) and

general detioration of health and worsening of guts issues due to

heavy antibiotics have put his body so far out of kilter. I wonder

if it could help myself and my husband with all our allergies. So

far my son is only HIGHLY allergic to dust mites, allergic to cats,

peanuts and almonds - that I know of. That was be so cool to get

his body totally healed up. He has migraines, allergies, acid

refulx, digestive problems, constipation, etc, etc. I am really

working on convincing him to try it. He stays so nauseous and is in

his car all day with a fast paced job, it will be ahard sell. I

think he could improve as much as my son. I have issues, but not as

bad as them. So, I said all this to say, the thought of allergies

and other things improving would be awesome!

I need some hope. I KNOW there is a nutritional type answer. Meds

are not the ONLY answer and I've GOT to find it! No wonder you are

so into SCD.

I'm hoping the adjustment for my son and myself won't be too bad

since I've already done a very strict Feingold diet and have always

like to make things from scratch. The grains and the pasta/rice

will be the hardest thing to get rid of.

Hi again Bonita,

I am glad that I could give you some HOPE! My family is no doubt a family of

messengers. This is why I respond to the serves at times. This is my " God "

work...so to speak. Nobody should suffer the way that some of us do. This has

to be an epidemic. Yet...only the sickest and those that have hit bottom with

the Sadiet and other solutions reach out for help.

SCDiet is the only one that I have found that ends gut disbiosis and ends all

the insanity and sickness that goes with it. WE tried other diets but refrain

to talking about them out of respect for others and this SCD list serve. YOU

are right, there is a nutritional type answer. Meds and surgery are not the

ONLY answer. Guess what! I think you did find it! I would not promote

something that did not work for us.

The adjustment/transition is not easy for some of us. But you will be in good

hands! If you start to go through die off there are things that you can do to

relieve your symptoms. It will not last forever. IT was after our first die

off that our autistic daughter's delirium seizures vanished and she came out of

her fog enough to notice the world for the first time. Remember that she was

diagnosed with moderately severe autism. This simply is not the case any more.

She has her problems still...but SCD has helped her so much. That and getting

my own health back. THIS made it VERY easy to say good buy to grains and

sugar. But truly can relate to the grief of saying good bye. The addiction to

this stuff is not fun.
