Guest guest
Trudy, Try getting Carnation Instant Breakfast, I hear it has all the same things in it as Ensure or Boost and it costs a whole lot less. I had a doctor tell me that when my Mom needed more nurishment and I was going to get Ensure. Pat Nevada

Guest guest
Trudy Ive honestly done great since surgery. I have lots of energy and feel terrific. I still take my Prevacid though. If I dont my tummy gets real unsettled. No reflux or burning, just kinda urpy. Im wearing a size 22 (which I havent worn in over 10 years) down from a 28 or 30. I eat mostly fruit/dairy/pasta and a little meat. I dont have any trouble eating anything. My bloodwork has all come back excellent. Ive lost about 77 pounds and have 75 more to go so Im halfway to my goal of 200 (im 5'11'' tall). Not bad for less than 4 months...: )) Sounds like youre doing wonderful also!! in Michigan

Guest guest
, I wish I could eat meat and pasta... I can eat sweets but I really never cared for them that much.. Miss my meat and bread though.. haha I'm doing good except in my fifth week have noticed some lack of energy... So I started some ensure this week, and I changed to metamucel instead of citrucel.. Still get the hives just not as bad! I've lost in inches even tho. I never measure! I can just tell by my clothes. Aint that the greatest feeling when things that use to be snug are now baggy in all the right places??? My husband really takes notice and never forgets to say something encouraging about my loss. I would never have thought he would have been so supportive. He's constantly telling me how proud he is of me.. Scheesh,, it really isn't me, it's my new stomach! (and Dr. R. and the MGB, but don't tell him, okay?) Keep us posted.. you were having your surgery just about the time I started investigating the MGB, and I'm tickled to hear from any of you... Thanks, Trudy Re: and Trudy Ive honestly done great since surgery. I have lots of energy and feel terrific. I still take my Prevacid though. If I dont my tummy gets real unsettled. Guest guest
Trudy Sounds like youre doing great!! What do you get the hives from?? That sounds awful!! I havent taken my Citrucell since 1 week post op... it just makes me gag!! That is probobly why I have to still take the Prevacid... but I would rather stay on Prevacid forever than choke down the vile Citrucell....LOL. I just did my first purging of fat clothes from my closet.. all my size 26-32's. Boy was that fun!! I measure myself every month and its fun to watch the inches drop. It also helps when you hit the dreaded plateau. The scale doesnt move, but thats usually when the inches show the most for me and it keeps me from getting down!! Thats great that your husband is so supportive. I live alone and dont live close to my family so I dont see them except usually for holidays so theyre really looking forward to seeing me for Christmas .... hopefully less 80 pounds...lol. Seems like its a new adventure every day!! Does the Ensure help with your energy levels??

Guest guest
, Haven't been taking the ensure long enough to know if it's gonna help with the energy.. sure hope so, it's very expensive!! (but it tastes kinda like a melted milk-shake, vanilla) Not sure where the hives are coming from, I got them when I was taking the carafate, too. Stopped that after one week. Then about another week later, noticed that the citrucel seemed to bring on hives... changed to medimucel (sp) tastes a whole lot better, but still I have hives.. They can get pretty nasty, they come and go depending on what I'm doing. I'm use to hives, I have lots of allergies, from different things, but especially all natural things with all natural ingredients... NO biggy, I'll figure it out. I'm more concerned about you not taking the citrucel, or something compariable.. I thought we were to take that everyday for the rest of our lives!! I don't suppose you checked with the doc before you quit taking it? Trudy Re: and Trudy Sounds like youre doing great!! What do you get the hives from?? That sounds awful!! Guest guest
<<Scheesh,, it really isn't me, it's my new stomach!>> Trudy, Don't you realize how much it took to risk your life and commit to a new lifestyle? I think he has every right to be proud. Glad your hives are starting to resolve--I was thinking about that just yesterday. Glad your clothes are shrinking, too.
