Guest guest
Hello there, If anyone can give me some advice here. Daughter 4yrs has been SCD for 7 months and going great guns. Last assessment was fantastic and her diagnosis was down graded to language delay. Since then, she got her hands on two slices of bread and ate the lot, had to go on a course of antibiotics and in the meantime went on a sugar craze and getting her hands on some lollies! Its been maddness, now she has started doing some really strange behaviour, hitting herself occasionally and also squinting her eyes quite often during the day. She was never one to have many " stimmy " behaviours and now I am convinced she must have Tourettes Syndrome! I am so worried. Any advice would be great. Venessa. Guest guest
Maybe redo the intro diet for a day or so to reset things in the gut? Are you doing probiotics/yogurt to offset the effects of the antibiotics? K Hashi's, Fibro, CFS, yeast/candida, copper overload, adrenal fatigue (mostly healed!!!) kids: son Rhowan 5 yrs old, chronic diarrhea/loose stools, yeast/candida, ADHD, salicylate intolerance, daughter Willow 6.5 yrs old, mild GI issues, salicylate intolerance Started SCD June 2006, went slightly off for awhile in Nov 2006, back on strict SCD starting May 2007. (Today is DAY FOUR of redoing the intro diet) > > Hello there, > > If anyone can give me some advice here. Daughter 4yrs has been SCD for > 7 months and going great guns. Guest guest
Hello there, Yes been giving probiotics but havent started yoghurt at all with her yet. I am more concerned about the stim behaviour as I have never seen it before and it scares me. Venessa. > > > > Hello there, > > > > If anyone can give me some advice here. Guest guest
You aren't really describing Tourettes, but were the antibiotics px-ed for strep? Have you done an EEG? Make sure you read up on PANDAS. - mvbrjz wrote: Hello there, If anyone can give me some advice here. Daughter 4yrs has been SCD for 7 months and going great guns. Guest guest
Hi there, You will have to start the die over with introductory diet for two days. The bad gut bugs are thriving now. YOU need to starve them out. Review chapter 9 and 10 and start over. She is only four... can you control what she puts in her mouth better. Is your house mixed...SCD and SAdiet? This will be more tough! Tough....but true....every infraction will cause set backs and not allow the vicious cycle to end. Teach her why she needs to eat this way. If she is like my son...they do not like feeling out of control. It is a icky feeling. It is not easy being ASD.....for us our our parents. www.pecanbread.com<http://www.pecanbread.com/> has an explanation for kids that is easy to understand. WE drew pictures of bad gut bugs dieing. lol I do understand that accidents happen. WE have had a few that landed us back to intro. This might be a good time to introduce Goat yogurt. it is better infighting the bad gut bugs. It was after we introduced the yogurt that we had the best results with SCD and controlling our daughter's stims and seizures. I truly don't think SCD works that well without it. www.pecanbread.com<http://www.pecanbread.com/> has guidelines on how to introduce it. Also, maybe put a lock on your pantry and refrigerator...that is if your entire house is not SCD. Guest guest
I agree with the lock on the pantry and frig. Our house is SCD, but I have locks on everything simply because my son might decide to eat a raw apple(SCD legal, but he's not ready yet). You can buy frig locks and pantry locks and any other kind of lock or gate at One Step Ahead. They have a catalog and a web site. If this doesn't help clear things up consider trying S. boulardii. It is very good for helping when antibiotics have thrown things out of balance.
