Guest guest
Does anyone know if Sac boulardi can be used while using prescription antifungals? If so, I'm assuming that the Sac B. should be given a ways apart from the antifungal, but can it be given when the probiotic is taken? Thanks. Guest guest
Hi Meleah, It depends on how many doses are taken per day and how long each dose will last in the body. You can check with the pharmacist on this. If you take multiple doses that start one after the other then prescription antifungals will kill the S. boulardii. Some research indicates that certain natural antifungals will not have an effect on S. boulardii - but, I don't know if it is true or not. I do take S. boulardii with yogurt. Research indicates that using L. casei and s. boulardii together creates a synergistic effect. (I had a leap forward in improvements when I started taking the yogurts with the S. boulardii) I expect that the S. boulardii will work with the other bacteria in yogurt as well but haven't come across that research...yet.
