Dear ,

Just sharing my experiences in hopes of helping someone get through this. It

took me years of experience with this to find out all this stuff. I sure wish I

had found this group in the beginning of my illness, would have saved me alot of

grief. I would have gone to one of the top pancreas MDs right away.

Yes, I have been feeling better this last week. My MDs had pulled me off

treatment, 3 weeks ago Sunday. The fact that I am feeling better each day is

very encouraging to me. I started back up on the meds yesterday. I was a little

stunned when my MD said I needed to start back up. I had made 23 weeks of the 72

week treatment plan when my bloods crashed and I was pulled off treatment. They

did the viral load in the hospital and I am UNDETECTED. How awesome is that.....

So I was kind of thinking that since it is dead, I could stay off treatment and

do a wait and see. So was a bit shocked when the call came in. My MDs had

different plans. They said that it is highly unlikely the virus will stay

undetected with only 23 weeks. They wanted me to continue. But it was up to me.

I decided to continue, what ever it takes to get better. They started me back

up on half doses of the meds, if my blood handles that, they will slowly

increase the doses. I also now take procrit (for RBC)and

neupogen (for WBC) The platelets are the scariest part, hope they stay at safe

levels. Right now my labs are RBC-2.50, WBC-19.7, Hemo 9.5, Platelets - 40. My

MDs will be watching my labs closely and hopefully I will get to the end this

time. Not looking forward to getting so exhausted again, but maybe with the

reduced doses it won't be as bad. I'll just keep rolling with the punches and I

know I will come out on the otherside, standing up and well.

Are you feeling stronger now? How are your pain levels? I hope each day is

finding you stronger and you will be up and running real soon. Talk to you soon.

Love,

w

Wisconsin
