my 2 year old and i are beginning again with SCD. we've actually

never stopped it officially but we recently started an anti-yeast

treatment and i think what i'm seeing is bringing us back to the

beginning again. my daughter and i both have gradually become

intolerant of all the same foods again. at first i was very depressed

and blamed it on some cheating we'd done when everything was going so

well. but now i see from my journal that it coincides with the

beginning of the yeast treatment (it's been about 3 weeks since

starting it).

my question is: has anyone experienced this? i really hope we'll be

able to move through the stages faster this time. we've been SCD 6

months at this point. the difference this time too is that we're

starting with mostly clear skin and her body seems to heal more

quickly when i do introduce a new food that she wasn't ready for.

also i noticed that the reaction is more immediate which makes it so

much easier to notice.

also would like to ask about when people go back to the intro diet in

general, is it really like starting over again or does it go faster?

thanks,

silvia

I'm interested to hear the responses. I think that is why I realized

my son had a banana issue - because the reaction showed up within a

half hour. That was very very helpful.

Hi Silvia,

Each time that we have started SCD over and revisited intro, the " die off " and

detox is always less.

It is typical for us to have regressions about every three months with SCD. It

is truly our choice to go back to intro foods or introductory diet at these

times. It seems to help some of us.

During regressions it was suggested to me to increase the goat yogurt and the

acidophilus to help fight the Candida back. Some drip this yogurt to make it

more tolerable. It truly was the " magic " ticket in ending the yeast in our

home.

As the gut disbiosis ends...and good bacteria multiply this war of the yeasty

beasties does get easier. The good bacteria keeps the yeast at bay.

16+ months SCD we have no signs or symptoms of yeast or heavy metals. This was

done with just SCD.

Some do find it helpful to do other SCD legal remedies for yeast though. I

personally did not feel that they helped as much as the yogurt and acidophilus.

But there are some ideas on www.pecanbread.com<about:blank> that some swear by.

They are under " difficulties " .

SCD is wonderful for lower the toxic load so that the body can now deal with the

heavy metals that we store in our fat when the body is over taxed. Prior to SCD

the liver was working non stop dealing with the toxic load of bad gut flora.

Now that this toxic load is lowering the liver can now get to work on what it

needs to ~ the heavy metals. We did not use chelation treatments...only SCD.

B complex with Vitamin C helps the body to detox. Elaine suggests B12 shots

too. I was successful using a prescription B12 nasal spray. Both me and my

daughter used this. SHE was almost two when we started SCD. So a similar

story. She is doing so much better now...and so am I. All symptoms of Candida

and heavy metals are gone on the most part.

SCD takes time...the turtle won this race and not that feisty hare that wants

short cuts and raw carrots~!

I wish you both healthy again~.

What kind of yeast treatment? Are you doing epsom salt baths?

What foods are you unable to tolerate?

<<my question is: has anyone experienced this?>>

Yes. Yeast has been the hardest thing for me to get a 'handle' on.

From what you have written it seems likely that you you'll be able to

move relatively quickly through the 'stages' to more complex SCD

foods as the yeast comes under control.

<< also would like to ask about when people go back to the intro diet

It depends on the severity of symptoms and if the reason that they

went back to the intro is fixed quickly. For example, if they went

back to the intro for the flu then after the flu clears up they can

usually zip back to where they were pre-flu .
