Guest guest
My boys have yeast issues so we are going to take a break from grape juice. Is Knudson's Just Cranberry Juice a good alternative for someone who struggles with yeast? Thanks, Dana and Garrett, 3 years old as of Mar 24 SCD One Year!!!!! Guest guest
This juice is highly concentrated. I dilute it about 6 parts water to 1 part juice, and add some saccharine because it is very tart. The result is yummy. I would think it would be good for yeast issues because it's low sugar, at least that is how I experience it. Guest guest
Dana, It's super duper tart. I mean, it's not sweet in the least little bit. What I do with it is add it in to my kids' diluted grape or orange juice. So, we use half water, a fourth grape or orange juice, and a fourth cranberry juice. Guest guest
The thing is that if you sweeten it with sacrin or honey it would defeat the purpose of trying to deal with any big yeast issues they are having, wouldn't it? Guest guest
I know honey could feed yeast, but I was thinking that saccharine does not feed yeast. Is that wrong? Because saccharine is non-caloric. But let me know if I'm misinformed or missing something here. Thanks, robin wrote: The thing is that if you sweeten it with sacrin or honey it would defeat the purpose of trying to deal with any big yeast issues they are having, wouldn't it? Guest guest
We seem to do okay with just a smidge of cranberry juice in water or sparkling water. We do not sweeten it. My kids went so long without anything but water, so they were happy to have the cranberry juice and thought it tasted okay. The sparkling water makes the tartness a little more acceptable in my opinion. We dilute it greatly so it isn't so tart. Guest guest
Hi Meleah, I don't believe that saccharine should feed yeast and cranberry juice is quite low in carbs.
