Ladies,

Wish I was with you the first week in Jan. but I had to

opt for Jan.8th because it was that or the 3rd and the

kids don't go back to school 'til the 4th. BTW, when do

we find out about when to be there and all that? Are we

supposed to go to our PCP to get prescriptions for the

pre-op meds that are listed? Lastly, (for now) when they

say you have to have someone with you, I had hoped to

have my husband drive me in on the 8th and just pick me

up on the 9th. With our kids, there isn't any time to

spend sitting around a hospital room. Do you think this

would be alright or was he referring to people from out

of town.?

Elaine I know that we are suppose to print out the prescriptions and take to

our pharmacy then they call the doctor's office and she tells them what else

is needed. When I was in clinic they gave out a sheet that said if you had

surgery on a monday YOu are to call sunday afternoon, between 3-6pm at

, ask the operator for the OR Secratary. This person will tell

you what time your surgery is scheduled and give you your preoperative

instructions. You will need to be at hospital at 7am. I hope this helps.

Unless something changed at clinic should be what we are suppose to do. I

hope this helps hugs Marg 1-3-01

Elaine,

I think it's more for people from out of town, but my hubby left me getting

cozy before surgery went out to breakfast did a little shopping and sight

seeing, and then came back to the hospital while I was in recovery...

So, I don't see anything wrong with your hubby going home if you live close.

Just as long as he can be reached, okay?

About the meds. post and pre-op...

There is a list in the manual you're suppose to take to your pharmacy (the ones

you will need for a prescription) and he is suppose to call down to Barb and get

the scripts..
