Guest guest
Cyndi, For years I had problems before that time of the month, I didn't know why but I would get pain that was not associated with my periods and feel like I had the flu. After I was diagnosed with cp I also found out I had PCOS. It is poly cystic ovary syndrome. I had a hysterectomy in October and since then I don't have the monthly attacks like I did before. I think my pcos and cp were related or at least one affected the other. Guest guest
reading some of the latest posts i noticed a couple of you all have more pain around period time. well ive been doing that lately, too.mine started around dec.04 and have been getting worse the past 7 months.the pain is really sharp,on my lower right side, made worse by coughing sneezing ect...it usually starts afew days before and stops when my period does.not being one to rush to the dr.over every little ache,i put it off until this month.i figured it was time,i hadnt had a exam or pap smear for 17 years.during the exam there was alot of tenderness when he touched my right ovary.since the pain radiates from my belly button,he was worried about scar tissue from a c-section or from having my tubes tied.so i was sent for an ultrasound and guess what???everything came back normal!!so i wonder what the problem could be.has anyone out there asked thier dr.if theres a connection with the worsening of periods and pancreatitis?beleiveme,i will ask my g.i.when i go on the 26th.but any thoughts or opinions in the meantime will be appreciated.hope everyone is doing good tonight.CINDY p.s.this is for TEAL:i also had my kids at a very young age.ihad all 4 by age 19!!how old were you,if im not being to nosy?also, i love your name, very pretty! Guest guest
O please feel free to ask me anything - I want to share and learn as much as I can...my dr told me I was crazy that the CP has nothing to do with the feminine organs...I believe everything is connected and it can be like a domino affect. Just my thought. To answer your question I was 16 - 29 days shy of 17. How do your kids deal with the sickness? Sometimes, we've planned something for quite sometime and then I am too sick in that day to go or we go and I get sick. I know how upsetting it is b/c I get upset about it too. There have been too many women on this board over the last 4-1/2 years that have complained of more pain and problems with their CP during that time of the month for it to be coincidental. In some way our hormones are involved. I have no idea how, or why, and wish that there was further study and research about this, as this, too, is just another one of those many mysteries associated with pancreatitis. Some day we will hear what the connection is, or our offspring will, but right now it doesn't seem to be of interest to anyone, but those of you who suffer.
