Guest guest
Some progress, but VERY Slow!! I followed suggestions and made multiple " bread-like " recipes from higher stages. Even though myself and the rest of my family found them absolutely delicious - he was still refusing ALL foods regardless. With the autism, it really seemed to come back to him being resistant to change, even if it was something he likes, like waffles, but it didn't look EXACTLY like what he normally has, he was saying no. I am determined to at least stay with legal foods, even if I can't do the stages right now, so on Thursday evening we began by " forcing " legal juice and chicken broth with a syringe on a time schedule, just to get some nutrition in. He hated that so on Friday we were able to get him to take a few tiny " crumb " bites of bread each time to avoid the syringe. Tonight he ate maybe 1/4 of a half a grilled cheese sandwich made with the SCD bread. He started looking better on Friday and has actually stayed awake most of the day yesterday and today(before he was sleeping almost constantly) and has also shown some slight interest in his video games and toys but still is weak and fatigues easily. One question I have is how long can the initial die-off last? Is it possible he is still going through some of that? We are still doing epsom salt baths, which he actually requests the baths on his own throughout the day some, and he is compliant in drinking lots of water. Thanks so much for all the support and suggestions, and a big thanks to you for asking about him. We aren't out of the woods yet but I think we're getting closer. Sheri mom of 11yrPDD-NOS & 9yrASD(alias the food striker) SCD 7 days PS My 11 yr old is still doing FABULOUS!! He is eating and enjoying things he never would have tried before, his mood and compliance is markedly improved and even he will tell you he feels sooo much better eating these new foods vs what he ate before. > > Any progress? > > - > > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo! oneSearch: Finally, mobile search that gives answers, not web links. > >
