Guest guest
, I would suggest that you talk to your doctor about more suitable meds for pain. Tylenol is not a good medication to be used over long periods of time, as it can eventually cause damage to your liver. I don't know what strength tablets you are taking now, but large quantities can and do cause liver damage, and that's something you should be concerned about. There are few OTC products that are strong enough to manage CP pain, unfortunately. That's why so many of us have pain management doctors and are prescribed different forms and dosages of Schedule II narcotics. It's not something that any of us wanted to do, yet we found it necessary to take this pain medication if we wanted to continue to function with some degree of activity. Some of these medications would be Dilaudid, MS Contin, Oxycontin IR, Oxycodone, Morphine, Methadone, Hydrocodone, etc. Alternate therapies are worth considering. There are specific antioxidants now that have been proven to be effective against pancreatitis pain. Many people benefit from acupuncture or chiropractory. I am taking a non-narcotic medication now called Neurontin that has also helped to lessen my CPpain. It was originally formulated to help reduce epileptic seizures, but has been found to bring relief from pain for patients with many different chronic pain illnesses. There is an electrical stimulus device called a " tens machine " that attaches to the body with small leads that has also been used to lessen pancreatic pain. There's Botox.......which is a completely new treatment, in the sense that I've never before heard it discussed for use in this manner on this board, but it's apparently now available from certain medical facilities. I hope this answers your question and gives you something to think about. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
