,

I took Ultrace MT-20's for over 2 years. They are an excellent

enzyme, I thought, and are enteric coated. They ARE a trademarked

brand, so why Humana " thinks " they are a generic is odd. They are also

VERY expensive, we ended up having to pay full price for my first two

prescription refills due to an insurance problem, and each bottle with

enough enzymes for a 2 weeks supply was $280!! I complained to my GI,

saying that this was as much as a car payment! He said I could

substitute with a generic called Lipram if I wished, but then the

insurance company got their act together and began paying for the

Ultrace enzymes, so I continued on with them for 2 years.

I hope you're having success with the generic fentanyl patch. Because

of a prescription mix-up, I'm using them this month instead of my

usual Duragesic patches, and I don't find them as effective as the

Duragesics and can't wait to start back on those at the end of the

month. Are the generic Fentanyl patches all that Humana will pay for?

If this is the case, I don't think I will pursue my attempts to use

Humana for my Medicare supplemental insurance. They still haven't

contacted me with any information, despite my four phone calls, so I

don't think I'm in an eligible area anyhow.

In regard to the sleepiness caused by the patches - you should get

over that feeling pretty soon. One of the side effects is that they

cause drowsiness when the patient first starts using them, but usually

by the second or third week you regain your alertness. What dosage are

you on? I know it's very annoying, but you should get over it soon.

With love, hope and prayers,

Heidi
