Guest guest
Hello all- We have finally found something my little food striker likes. Last night I made him an SCD legal mini-pizza and he ate almost half of it. Then today ate some more of the leftovers reheated in the toaster oven. The only other thing he will semi-eat is a grilled cheese, he is still iffy about the different breads (I've tried 2 different recipes) but he will take a few bites and then try to pick the cheese out and eat it. Other than ABA techniques of pairing preferred with non-preferred, does anyone have any other suggestions for getting him to expand his choices? In other words where do we go from here? Also - on the bread I have tried the sandwich roll/bun recipe in BTVC (which the rest of us find DELICIOUS) and the Weston's white bread recipe in Cooking to heal little tummies. Does anyone have any other bread recipe that they can recommend? Thanks! Sheri mom of 11yoPDD-NOS, 9yoASD
Guest guest
Sheri, First, CONGRATS on getting your little food-stricker to eat. Is Weston's a cook book that I can find out anywhere? I'd like that bread recipe. That may be an idea to make a bread for my husband and help him get into the SCD thing. He needs it so badly. Bonita The food striker EATS again!! Guest guest
Weston's bread is in the cookbook called " Cooking to Heal Little Tummies " . It's a cookbook for kids, but you can find some good recipes for adults too. You can get it from www.digestivewellness.com or www.scdiet.com. Good Luck! -Dena Bonita Todd wrote: Sheri, First, CONGRATS on getting your little food-stricker to eat. Is Weston's a cook book that I can find out anywhere? I'd like that bread recipe. Guest guest
Hi Bonita- The " Weston's White bread " recipe is in a great little cookbook called " Cooking To Heal Little Tummies " . I am really enjoying as it seems to have mostly kid-friendly recipes. I purchased it online at www.SCDiet.com, just click on the SCD diet store link, then the books/cookbooks link on the next page. I am also very pleased with Grain-free gourmet, almost everything I have made in it has been really good. (or if you just want the one recipe, email me off-post and I will send it to you) So far the sandwich roll recipe from BTVC has been tastier for the majority of my gang,(I ordered a true " bun pan " from the King Arthur's flour website and bake it in that) but the Weston's recipe does " look " more like traditional bread so for my change-resistant food striker, he is accepting it on the grilled cheese better than the other.
