Guest guest
All, I'm still stuck on the mayo thing. What is the least allergenic, lowest salicylates and most easily tolerated kind of oil that would taste good to make mayo out of? I'm not sure my son can tolerate olive oil yet and used it before SCD and thought it may be a problem. I know he is allergic to peanuts and almonds. Cashews are okay, but don't know about any other nuts. Info in case that helps. Thanks! Guest guest
Meleah, Grapeseed may be a problem as grapes are very high in salicylates; I better avoid that right now. Walnut is low in salicylates, so it may be okay. What brand do you use? I'm not familar with walnut oil and if it can be found in regular grocery stores. Bonita mayo oil ? Guest guest
I can buy walnut oil at a local grocery chain called Lowe's Foods. I'm not sure if they have that store where you live. The brand is La Tourangelle. They also make hazelnut oil if he can tolerate that. Meleah mayo oil ? All, I'm still stuck on the mayo thing. Guest guest
Hi Bonita, These oils are listed as negligble for salicylates: Butter Safflower Oil Sunflower Oil From http://www.zipworld.com.au/~ataraxy/Salicylates_list.html (please note that this site also lists SCD illegals). I love sunflower oil in my mayo. Sheila, SCD Feb, 2001, UC 23yrs, PCOD 22yrs mom of and <<I'm still stuck on the mayo thing.
