Guest guest
Hi, Amy I had united healthcare when I had my surgery (5/29/00) and they paid for it. What I did is called them myself and asked if they covered WLS before I started my packet. I think when it was all over I paid like $300.00 maybe a little more. Guest guest
I had United Health Care POS (it depends on if you just have HMO or not, i guess) but they approved me PRONTO!! it was great! Love, Sperb _______________________________ Same here have United Healthcare Select Plus POS and was approved in about 12 hours. I know of about 4 others with UHC that also got rapid approval. Guest guest
Hi... I'm and I'm new to all of this. I'm trying to get my packet together, and of recent have found myself concerned that I won't get insurance approval. I have just elected UHC POS as my insurance, it will change over from my HMO in January. Did those of you that have UHC POS find that there was no problem getting approval, or did you need to be in a life or death situation? I'm confused and worried about not getting the approval. I don't know what I'll do if they refuse me. Thanks, ===== L Stuart heatherstuart13@... __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi : There's a website that has files about insuracne types and if they pay/paid for wls. I think it's at obesityhelp.com...if anyone else knows, jump in here. Anyway, it is a list that people who have been approved or denied have put up which spells out which policies pay and which don't. Most health care insurance companies write hundreds of different policies and they negotiate a particular policy with employers. While employee a who has a certain insurance company may be covered, it is entirely possibly that employee b who works for a different company but has the same insurance company, has coverage which will not cover. Unfortunately, it's a very diversified in terms of who pays and who doesn't. Sorry. I know I'm not help. Guest guest
I had United Health Care POS and assuming it's the same, I was approved hassle free. I had a BMI of @ 45 and by everyone's standards was " morbidly obese " or whatever they're calling it now. From what I have seen on this list, UHC was really the best insurance to have! Hope your experience is as good as mine! Love, Sperb >>> heatherstuart13@... 12/11/00 05:14AM >>> Hi... I'm and I'm new to all of this. I think it depends on your employer though and the way the policy is written. I work for American Airlines and it was no problem. I have my surgery a week from Friday. Can't believe it is so soon!!!
