Guest guest
Hi all. Sorry I don't post much. As a mom of six very active children I don't get much chance to read the list mail.. I have to delete more than I would like in order to keep close to reading all. I have been going to start my packet for two months now... I know that I am a procrastinator Queen but I am not usually this bad. I have started my letter about 6 times. then I get stumped.... I am not sure how to get out what is inside. I thought that maybe I should just break down and ASK my " friends " on the list. HOW DID YOU GET IT GOING??? I am afraid that I will not get the sentence stucture correct. that my bad grammar will get my letter " rejected " . I am not real good at essays and writing. So I am really nervous about not getting it " right " . HECK I AM SCARED ! !! I am afraid that my own inability to focus and get this letter written is going to cast me the chance at changing my life. Please assist. I could really use the motovation. Thanks in advance. Guest guest
Anita, for the sake of those 6 wonderful children, who need their mommy, I will proof and edit your letter for you(something I do for income, usually), and email it back to you with grammatical and spelling changes. But your words will be yours, not mine, have no fear. Deal??? Now, what's your excuse??? Big smile. Fondly, PhillyJude
Guest guest
Anita, In the 12 steps to get started there is a sample patient letter.. I followed that pretty much, answering the questions in my own words, and putting the experiences of my own life in the place of that person's experiences. You'll find it very helpful. Trudy How to get past the fear???? Hi all. Sorry I don't post much. As a mom of six very active children I don't get much chance to read the list mail.. Guest guest
Anita: I was so afraid of that dang patient letter - it was the absolute last thing I did for my packet. I put it off until the last minute. But once I got started it just FLOWED out of me. I had no trouble writing for 11 pages. I followed someone else's advice and pretended that I was talking it over with a friend. I didn't take me any time at all to finish the rough draft. Just tell him how you feel in your own words - he doesn't expect you to write like a doctor. Have a friend proof read for grammar and punctuation. I'm sure it will be fine. Guest guest
If you ever get to Philly, come stay with me!! I live in a lovely and historic city, as you know. When folks come here and want to be tourists, I give them a key and a map, and lots of hints, and push them out the door! Haven't lost a one of them yet! My kids went to college in far parts of this country (she in Virginia; he in California; now she's in California and he's in Philly) and their friends would come and stay with me so that they could visit and tour my city and not have to pay hotel fees. Well, if their friends can come, and I've never before met these folks, then I figure MGB'ers can come too. What the heck!! So, come on girl. You're so welcome!! Guest guest
Dear Anita, The apprehension is normal. The procrastination is normal. Doubting your gramatical structure is normal. Everyone worries about how they will pull it together. Break it down into little projects. Make a page for each separate issue that the good Dr. wants. Make a plan to complete a page every few days. Then when you get done with the separate pages put them all together and you'll be done. We'll help you - we've all been in the same boat. Hang in there - this too shall pass. Getting the packet done and submitted is by far the hardest and most time consuming part. Tarri in Missouri MGB 09-29-00 329/275 How to get past the fear???? > Hi all. > Sorry I don't post much.
