Guest guest
Hi All, We are officially past the Intro and was so excited about introducing the yogurt as so many people swear by it. Well, today I introduced the yogurt (mixed with honey) thinking that my son would be totally excited to have something new in addition to the fact that he used to love yogurt before we went GFCF. To my surprise, he took one bite and said " yuck " . He refuses to eat any more. I really want to try this. Any pointer/ideas on how to get him to eat it and maybe even learn to like it? Thanks! Guest guest
I don't know your son's taste, but you could look for recipes where the yogurt is more or less a base (salad dressing/dip). For my son, he liked it when I prepared it in a blender this way... 6oz yogurt 1/2 avacado raw egg juice from 1/2 a lemon or lime honey to taste - Unwin wrote: Hi All, We are officially past the Intro and was so excited about introducing the yogurt as so many people swear by it. Guest guest
I am excited to try this recipe for dippping, as my daughter is not thrilled with the taste of the yogurt and we are 3 weeks into the diet. Also, one thing that has been working for me is that I add a little to her dairy free smoothies. I make them with Ripe Bananas, Cooked Apples and Pears and I add veggies like cooked spinach, green beans and zucchini. We have seen incredible improvements in our daughter in the past three weeks! Good Luck with the yogurt! Debbie (Mom of 3 year-old Meg with Autism) > Hi All, > > We are officially past the Intro and was so excited about introducing the yogurt as so many people swear by it. Guest guest
Both of my children on SCD say they like the yogurt better dripped, and they also tolerate it better that way. We use the goat yogurt because they both have had high sensitivity to milk before SCD. We also introduced it very gradually, starting with 1/4 teaspoon a day and gradually increasing it. Becky My son hates the yogurt! Hi All, We are officially past the Intro and was so excited about introducing the yogurt as so many people swear by it. We use it just like you would cream cheese, spread it on pumpkin pie filling or souffle bread, etc. I also throw a teaspoon or two into their smoothies. Here is what we use in our smoothies: 1 ripe banana 1 tablespoon coconut oil or butter 2-3 egg yolks (from a local trusted source) whatever amount of dripped yogurt they can tolerate (we do about 2 teaspoons right now) The ripe banana makes it really sweet in our opinion and doesn't need honey. Another way to change the flavor of the yogurt (dripped or not) would be to add just a smidge of vanilla to it. K Hashi's, Fibro, CFS, yeast/candida, copper overload, adrenal fatigue (mostly healed!!!) kids: son Rhowan 5 yrs old, chronic diarrhea/loose stools, yeast/candida, ADHD, salicylate intolerance, daughter Willow 6.5 yrs old, mild GI issues, salicylate intolerance Started SCD June 2006, went slightly off for awhile in Nov 2006, back on strict SCD starting May 2007.
