Guest guest
Hi all! We are three weeks into the diet and our Meg is doing great! She is making incredible eye contact and becoming so much more interactive, and most of all, we can see she is feeling so much better. I have a question that some of you may have input on. She is really preferring everything pureed in a smoothie. I am getting so many veggies in this way, but I don't know when she will want to eat them whole. She definitely has oral sensory issues but has eaten whole beans and meats before starting this diet. I feel like I am getting plenty of calories and nutrients in this way, but was wondering if anyone else had experienced this and how long it took before their children would eat veggies and meat on a plate?? She will eat the ripe bananas whole with nut butter and I have been able to add some chicken and some of the yogurt into her smoothies, too. Thanks for your input! Since she doesn't haven't to chew it up it will be easier for her to digest. She may be associating the pureed smoothies with feeling better, and thus will prefer them over chewing foods. It might actually be better for her now anyway to have the smoothies - it provides her with more nutrition. As she continues to improve she may feel more adventurous and try whole cooked veggies - which can be pretty boring to a kid. The smoothies are a great idea.
