die off trouble and pecanbread

Sheila,

I know this is basic, but my son does not follow the rules. I've

read all the symptoms of die off and the list Antoinette sent, but

my son has none of them hardly at all. He has been constipated

since he started this 8 days ago almost 9 and he gets black eyes. I

know constipation can be a sign of die off. He tends to be

dehydrated some with dry skin and stuff even though he drinks a lot

of water (and this is only since starting the diet).

Here's the rub though. He is extremely sensitive to salicylates. I

thought you could also tell about die off from his behavior, but he

gets worse and worse over time the more he consumes hardly any

salicylates at all. How can you tell the difference? Or rather how

do you know specifically if he cannot tolerate a food yet or if it's

just salicylate sensitivity? I'm trying so hard to do this exactly

right and not rush it, but just can't tell the difference. I want

this to work.

His behavior over today has deteriorated so much and my husband and

I are going nuts. I gave him the pecan bread. I don't know if it

was the pecans or something in it or the electrolyte drink with

pomegranate juice. It's hard to tell without skin tests if he's

allergic to pecans or not as his reactions are not the normal

reactions to food allergies. But he has to have something to keep

his bowls going doesn't he? I don't think it would be the

pomegranate juice, but who knows at this point. He did finally have

a normal bowl movement, but darker (probably because of the spinach

and charcoal). Will this end if I discontinue the electrolyte drink

and pecanbread?

Thanks for your help.

By black eyes do you mean the skin under the eyes gets dark - my

daughters eyes were like this until her die off started to clear up.

The constipation can cause bahvioural problems as reported by many

others over the years. I think it is very important to get the

constipation cleared up.

I think it is important to get his bm's more regular. How were his

behaviours after the bm? I don't know if you have tried the homemade

bone broths to relieve constipation , but some find it helps.
