Guest guest
If it looks like the meat from the intro diet is being digested with no problem but the veggies are not what does that mean? Does it mean I need to cook even longer than I am now? Puree? Or does it mean I need enzymes? I cooked and then recooked carrots for my son. Then I mashed the carrots and while I was feeding them to him I realized what I had mashed looked very similar to part of what is coming out in the diaper. This only applies to the veggies because he went 3 days straight eating only meat and eggs and he had dark formed poops. When I added a nice amount of veggies I'm seeing tiny veggie pieces or what looks like areas of pureed veggies in his stool. Any ideas?? The veggies would be green bean, zucchini and carrots. I've seen tiny carrot pieces and greenish pureed items in his stool. Any help would be appreciated. Guest guest
We puree my son's food. He does fine on fresh carrot juice, but can not tolerate cooked carrots, even pureed. Guest guest
Hi Pam, <<If it looks like the meat from the intro diet is being digested with no problem but the veggies are not what does that mean?>> That some healing has occured, but more is necessary. <<Does it mean I need to cook even longer than I am now? Puree? Or does it mean I need enzymes?>> Carrots, for example, are cooked for *4* hours on the intro and then pureed with either water or broth from the soup (blender or food processor). Many people think they are having trouble with carrots but they are usually not cooking them sufficiently. << I cooked and then recooked carrots for my son. Then I mashed > the carrots and while I was feeding them to him I realized what I had > mashed looked very similar to part of what is coming out in the > diaper. I've seen tiny> carrot pieces and greenish pureed items in his stool.>> Most young children don't chew their food a lot, so much of it may pass through unchewed. Elaine wrote that if the stool is formed (and behaviours are stable) some digested vegetable matter is not a big problem. Some foods will probably appear in stool unless very well cooked and pureed (not mashed) like carrots and green beans. Cooked zucchini will likely be digested since it has a high water content. Guest guest
Hi Pam & all.. I've just read your posting on the 09th July, how is your son doing? My daughter is actually having the same problem and it is still happening until now. Meat looks digested but not vegies, her stool is firm most of times but can be divided into 2 different lumps with totally different colours and sometimes got mucus (not often). The other day her BM was interesting to look at as half mushy with yellowish colour and the other half was firm in brown colour with undigested vegies. Is it normal for 3 yo? Have you got the answer for your posting about your son's BM? Hope you can share it with me. Thanks Leena > > If it looks like the meat from the intro diet is being digested with no > problem but the veggies are not what does that mean?
