Guest guest
I have a very funny story for you all this morning. Several days ago I asked my son if he'd like for me to make cookies. He said yes but did not mention it for a couple of days then 2 days ago he asked me to make cookies. As I was getting everything together he saw the almond flour and started whining about how I had led him into thinking they would be " regular " cookies. I informed him he knew better - that there is no wheat flour in the house, etc. Anyway, he refused to eat any - refused to even try them. So hubby and I have been eating cookies. There were 4 left last night when I went to bed. This morning I got up and went into the kitchen and there was a note from our son on top of the empty container: " i hate to sa it but thes r good. P.S. neds milk. Zac " I just busted out laughing ! I cannot think which is making me smile more - his deciding to eat the cookies and liking them or the fact that he spontaneously wrote me a note I could read. W. Guest guest
It's funny how people are surprised that SCD treats taste good. Don't get me wrong. I've had some bad experiences. But, I have finally found some really good cookie and muffin recipes, and people are surprised that they actually are very tastey. Meleah I hate to say it I have a very funny story for you all this morning. Several days ago I asked my son if he'd like for me to make cookies. Guest guest
The one I made was good (carrot cake), but aren't bake goods supposed to be limited to no more than the equivilent of 3 muffins/day? Does that number get reduced further if you are using nut flour in other dishes? We aren't using nut flour, but I recently put together a binder with all of the SCD recipes and I found the collection as a whole to be pretty high in nut flour and I am wondering how much nut flour should be used on a daily basis for those who can use it. - robin wrote: It's funny how people are surprised that SCD treats taste good. Guest guest
I would think it would depend upon how long you've been on SCD and how " healed " you are. Body size, etc. What does the book say? I'd go by that. Our son eats very, very little nut flour anything - has not had any in a couple of months as he is on a nut flour strike for the time being. He started out liking the nut flour muffins/bread and then just up and refused to eat any for a couple of months. W.
