Guest guest
Hi my name is Judy, I am hoping to have the surgery done. I am in the early stages of it. So any help or information would be greatly appreciated. This is something I want to have done. I know all my health problems will either go away or be reduced. I am just so excited about what my life will be after the surgery. I want to live, I want to enjoy all the things that I just sit back and look. I want to participate. I want to wear regular clothes. God, I hope I get this done. But I need to know if any of you did not have 5 years of medical records that show you tried to lose weight from the doctor. I can not take any weight loss pills due to my other medication. I have tried WW, going to the gym. I know I will never succeed in losing weight. I love food to much. Well, I think this enough blabbering. Please send any info that can help me. Thank You so much
Guest guest
Hi Judy: Welcome to the group! I think there are many of us that did not have all of our diets medically supervised. I know that I for one did not. I listed many diets that I tried, however, the only ones that were medically supervised were the ones where the doctor gave me diet pills and yes I lost and yes I gained it right back. So don't be discouraged by that. I don't know if that is a requirement of your insurance company or not. My insurance covered weight loss surgery as long as it was medically necessary. Since my BMI was over 40 and I was considered morbidly obese, it was medially necessary. As far as advice, just make sure you read Dr. Rutledges manual inside and out and make sure you know everything you can. Also, do all your homework and you will be fine. I would be happy to be one of your contacts when you get to that point. You can e-mail me at psmcdonald357@.... Good luck with your research and making your decision. Guest guest
Hi Judy and welcome. Why do you need five years of trying to lose weight? Is this a requirement of your insurance company? Dr. R doesn't require that you have taken medication...just document on your patient information form which you will send to him over the internet, the attempts you have made at losing weight. Just kind of think back and make notes of the approx. year and approx. how much you lost and regained. He doesn't expect perfect memory...just an idea of your attempts and eventual failure (and I'm assuming you did fail eventually because you're here and most of us tried and failed (actually our bodies failed us)). Really read the manual over well several times and look over all the info on Dr. R's site. Then ask any of us anything you want to know and if we hve the answer, we'll reply! Again welcome. Best wishes to you. Guest guest
Judy: I did not have 5 years of Medical history but each and every insurance is different and require different things. Mine was pretty easy and they approved me in about 10 days after I sent the letter to them. I sugest you send all you can to Dr. Rutledge and let him write his magic letter for you. If you have other mirbidities, that will probably do the trick. Good Luck. Phyllis in fla,. JJWINS@... wrote: > Hi my name is Judy, I am hoping to have the surgery done.
