Hi,

I'm making a chuck roast for my brother today.

He is on stage two.

I'm planning on browning the roast in a skillet and then putting it in

the oven.

Is this considered " pan frying " ?

Thanks,

Ellie

Ellie,

That's " braising " and that's fine!

We braise our roasts and then cook them in a crock pot all day in water with

seasonings (salt, etc not a mixed seasoning of course) - comes out so tender it

falls apart and is difficult to get out of the pot. yum!
