Hi. We just got back our OAT test and the yeast is WAY down, almost

gone in fact. Yippe! However, my son's oxalates were very high.

Almonds are listed as high in oxalates and of course that's what I use

to bake his bread. What do you think of me using a blend of flours to

bake his bread to cut down on the oxalates - some almond, some coconut

and some rice flour. Is there any major problem with rice flour? I

realize it's starchy but since his yeast is so low, I'm wondering if

it would be ok at this time.

I tried the flourless bread twice and it does not work for us.

your thoughts?

Please don't use rice flour. No rice is OK while on SCD. Coconut flour is very

fibrous. Have

you tried pecan flour?

Here is more info:

Carol,

I stopped making the yogurt due to all the controversy about what

the correct temp was in the yogurt machine. As of yet, I haven't

heard what the correct temp is and whether or not the lactose is

gone at higher temps or what exactly is going on. I would make the

yogurt again but I need to know if I've been wasting my time for

nearly 2 years. Perhaps I missed the post - if so can you direct me

to it?

Other than rice flour being starchy, is it a good starting point if

one is considering expanding the diet? what would be a good first

Non-SCD food? I've read sweet potato but do you have another food?

thanks

Hi ,

Just a thought... This book has a food intro chart for babies that is like no

other. http://www.all-natural.com/chl-allr.html It might be a good source of

info for intro-ing non-SCD foods for yourself if that's where you are at. Dr.

Rona is on the web in many places & I think even has his own discussion group (I

came across it at one time, I don't have the URL). You might be able to find

his food intro diet somewhere on the web or even contact him. I have his book,

and I figured that if we ever venture off SCD, we would use his food schedule to

do so.
