I'm so happy for you that you have crossed over!!! You sound like you are

doing well. I too need to remind myself to eat. Just remember to also drink

a lot of fluids so you don't get dehydrated. Keep us posted!!! And

congratulations on the 11lb loss.

Hi everyone!!! This is Rhonda from Indiana. Just wanted to drop a

few quick lines to let everyone know I am back at it again. I came

back to work today. It has taken me most of the day to figure out

what was done while I was gone and what still needs to be done. I

think I pretty much have it figured out now. Thankfully, I took off

during one of our slow times. My desk wasn't even buried when I came

in. That usually happens after being gone for a weekend. I am

really grateful things were pretty slow while I was gone.

My surgery went well. I had surgery on November 30. It took 45

minutes. Dr. R. said my liver is enlarged from the excess weight.

He seemed to think it would be okay. Just told me to have my PCP

keep an eye on it. I had about three days of being nauseated but I

got the patch and that is better now. I also was not one that went

shopping the next day. I slept for about the first 3 days. The port

above my belly button bled for about 2 days but my mom bandaged it

using a kotex at night and I was fine. The trip home was pretty

uneventful. We left Tuesday after clinic and got home Wednesday

about 7:00 p.m. I packed a little cooler with the juice and yogurt

and a thermos with some soup and was set to go.

I already had an appointment with my PCP scheduled for something else

the Thursday we got back. I lost 11 pounds the first week. I am

going to try not to weigh again until my month is up.

Things are going pretty good. I am now learning to adjust to my new

tummy. My husband has had to remind me to eat quite a few times. I

guess I need to come up with a plan so that I don't go without eating.

This is all for now. Good luck to all the pre-ops still in the

process. I know I thought it would never happen but it does in Gods

time. Thanks to all who helped me along the way.

Bonded by our experience, strength and hope

Hi Rhonda. I am so glad to read your post, I thought you did not post

at all when I had not heard from you. I am doing fine and have only

weighed at clinic one week post op. I have had no problems except like

you, I forget to eat and then get weak. I have shopped until I dropped

and then shopped some more. I am eating pretty much small amounts of soft

stuff. Grits do not seem to like me but I will keep trying later. I

think my husband is buying a digital scale for me for Christmas and I can

keep better check. My one and only weigh in was 13 pounds. Love and

best wishes and Merry Christmas. Phyllis from fla.
