Guest guest
My 3yo ASD son has done extremenly well on the SCD diet for the last 10 months. We started with constipation that would last for 4-7 days that was broken up by horrible bouts of diarrea. He was always in pain and life revolved around when his next poop would be. Now he goes on a regular basis, and even has a regular time of day that he goes. His stools are formed, and the food is well digested. He is never bloated anymore, and while we still have a long way to go with his development (still non-verbal) it is lovely to have a child that is finally pain free. I used to spend my evenings holding him while he cried and giving his belly pressure while he desperately tried to poop. Now we spend our evenings taking walks, playing chase, and cuddleing on the couch. If you are on the fence about starting SCD with your ASD child, please don't wait, and feel free to e-mail me offline if you need help in deciding what is best for your child.
