Guest guest
I thought this may be of interest to some of you: Stem Cell Therapy for Autism: A Proposal Jul 11 2007, 10:19 PM EST Business Wire The Institute for Cellular Medicine (www.cellmedicine. com) announced today what appears to be the first publication in a peer reviewed journal outlining scientific rationale for the use of stem cells in the treatment of autism. " The application of stem cell therapy to autism, a condition affecting approximately 1 in 144 children, offers the possibility of addressing the root cause of this disorder, " said Dr. Gang Chen, one of the International Scientific Advisors for the Institute of Cellular Medicine. He continued, " While numerous clinics have used adult stem cells therapeutically for years, none of these clinics make it a priority to publish in the peer reviewed literature the scientific basis for their work and findings. As a result, anecdotal findings and observations which would have great value to academic researchers are largely ignored. We hope to correct this. " The publication, entitled " Stem cell therapy for autism, " was published in the Journal of Translational Medicine and is freely available online at http://www.translat ional-medicine. com/content/ pdf/1479- 5876-5-30. pdf . A video summary of the paper may be seen at http://www.youtube. com/watch? v=FlSaXCzLW6w . " While embryonic stem cells are receiving the spotlight of the mass media, fears of carcinogenesis, immune rejection and lack of differentiation have blocked these cells from clinical use to date. In sharp contrast, adult stem cell therapy, which does not involve destruction of fetuses has demonstrated great success in various US and European clinical trials for conditions such as heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and Crohn's disease. In fact, companies such as Osiris Therapeutics are already in Phase III FDA registration trials for their adult mesenchymal stem cell therapy product. By this publication, we hope to extend current clinical research of adult stem cells to autism, " concluded Dr. Chen. About the Institute for Cellular Medicine The Institute for Cellular Medicine is an international organization offering adult stem cell therapy for a variety of degenerative conditions ranging from multiple sclerosis, to rheumatoid arthritis, to heart failure. Guest guest
I have done stem cells in Barbados for our son in December and the results have been amazing for autism.. The first thing we noticed is that his gut is completely healed, and his stools are perfectly normal.. and he is so different… he is forming words etc. if anyone wants more, please ask… we are ecstatic, as we have been on this journey for 14 yrs. And have done every treatment , therapy , diet etc. you name it , and we have done it… So nice to hear someone is being brave and posting this… The reason I chose to go to Barbados is because I Know many who have gone there and have seen the results with my own eyes and I wanted to go where we knew it was safe…. Wonderful facility…. Guest guest
Corinne, I am curious as to how much something like this costs- not including the plane ticket to Barbados. Also curious as to the degree of severity was your son. I am clueless on what this would intale medically.
