Just brushing with water will do the job. Or you can use baking soda.

My son is 7 and also swallows toothpaste, so we went to baking soda and water.

The dentist said his teeth look good, so it was okay but wanted us to us a dab

of regular toothpaste for the flouride (which I really don't care for anyway).

I THOUGHT TEA TREE OIL TOOTHPASTE THAT CAN BE BOUGHT AT WHOLE FOODS WAS

FINE, IT’S WHAT WE USE AND WE HAVE NO DENTAL PROBLEMS AND WE ALL USE IT..

TEA TREE OIL IS A NATURAL ANTIBIOTIC FROM A TREE IN AUSTRALIA, YOU CAN ALSO

USE THE MOUTHWASH… AND THEY ALSO HAVE AN OINTMENT, FOR CUTS AND MINOR

ABRASIONS, ETC.. IT IS REALLY GREAT..HOPE THIS HELPS…

Hi Bonita,

Baking soda works nicely. So does calcium carbonate, or sodium

ascorbate. Some people use bar soap, and are claiming that their

damaged teeth are repairing (see http://gerardjudd.com/goodteeth.htm).

Fluoride doesn't really help, except perhaps to kill bacteria (being

an enzymatic poison).

There has been no unbiased study to show it has any effect on teeth

other than dental fluorosis. An ex-government official in NZ once told

how the national results (fluoridated VS non-fluoridated areas) showed

nil difference in terms of cavities - and therefore how they set up

biased studies to support the official government position of

fluoridation, and hid those true results.

(e.g. compare the known best fluoridated town against the worst

non-fluoridated town, and pretend it was representative; get

pro-fluoride dentists to rate the teeth of children, after telling

them first whether they were from a fluoride area or not, etc)

cheers,

Russ

Hi Lori,

TMK there are no 100% SCD legal toothpastes. Elaine said not to worry

if it is spit out. Since your son swallows it you can try using

smaller amounts.

There is a recipe to make your own toothpaste at

Hi Corinne,

If it is spit out then no worries. If the toothpaste is swallowed

you'd want to double check the ingredients.

Liquid stevia might be an option. A drop on the brush with water should be okay

to swallow (read the stevia recommendations/warnings and decide for yourself).

It is a natural dentrifice.

Hi Sheila and the rest of the group,

Thanks for your reply and other info. Just had time today to read

tons of messages. I'm learning a lot from all of you.

Have a great week everyone.
