Questions on yogurt

I know this will sound crazy, I am just wondering if it is legal if I

use goat milk to make yogurt but commercial cow yogurt as the starter.

Would that be better than cow yogurt or it will completely ruin

everything. I couldn't find any commercial goat yogurt without bifidus

in it but very easy to find one with commercial cow yogurt.

Another thing, I tried hard to do this diet fanatically but it is

quite hard for I'm not a good cook & I don't have reliable hubby to

support me, as he does treatment in his own way, giving our DD

supplement without discussing it with me which is probably got illegal

filler & sugar, I know it will be better to keep on doing SCD but if

this keeps on happening, will there be any hope that my daughter can

improve in a big way? I heard before that 1 drop of crumb can delay

the healing longer.

I would like to hear from anyone who has improved their kids from non

verbal to verbal from doing the SCD diet.

Thanks

Clarice, Welcome!

You are crazy :-) --like a fox!

I use cow yogurt and goat milk to make SCD yogurt and have for seven years. I

tried a goat

yogurt as a starter and got quite ill. It contained bifidus in the culture and

that is illegal.

Make sure your cow yogurt has the right strains. It' can be Dannon in the U.S.

and locally

in Ontario, Canada, Astro Natural Balkan Style is a popular choice.

Hi Carol,

I'm pleased to hear your comment : ) and to know someone as crazy as

me.. ha..ha..!

We don't have all the brands you use in US & Canada, I am using De

Winkel with Acidophilus culture which is legal and work out really

cheap for us.

Thanks for letting me know. ..and just curious, is your yogurt

tastes really sour doing this way. Mine is and hard to make my

daughter eat it without a big spoon of honey. She has no problem

eating cow yogurt but since goat yogurt is the protocol of SDC for

ASD , I try my best to make it.

Ah, Leena

The big spoon of honey..if it were only that. I drop in a big tablespoon of

Marantha

Roasted Almond butter along with the honey and get an SCD version of a hot fudge

subdae. It is good everywhere but on my scale. I am up two pounds and the large

jar of

almond butter bought just last week is nearly empty. I'll need a soft muzzle

soon :-)

Imncidentally, I also awirl nut butter into the cheesecake recipe and top it off

with

raspberries. More trouble on the Tanita (weigh scale).
