Thanks Antoinette, I will make a few phone calls & find out what we need to do.

BTW, I just love the RMH. The one we use is like a luxury bed and breakfast!

The funny thing about cooking SCD while there is the funny looks you get from

the staff. I was in the kitchen while they were giving a tour to a new

volunteer/sponsor. The house director was explaining that the kitchen must be

fully stocked with quick snacks such as poptarts and granola bars and meals like

instant oatmeal and instant soup since the families are in a hurry and can't

prepare a real meal. Here I am in the middle of the kitchen looking like I am

hosting a cooking show!

Since the MtD doctors are not alternative. MOST if not all insurance

coverage wil help you in testing your atypical kids for Horizon

Molecular Medicine or Cleveland Clinic. www.umdf.org can guide you

better. United way or Angel Flights will help you to get there. Once

there, Mc Charities and their Mc House is a nice place to

stay with a kitchen available for your SCD needs.

We don't have much money either...I know how you feel and the

frustration that goes with it.

Hi ,

I found your post so entertaining I had to add.

In Atlanta Georgia, their RMDH is very nice. WE too where the odd

balls...cooking in the kitchen while veryone else binged on the

SAdiet. It was discusting to be in a kitchen with so much illegal

JUNK. The saddest...is that many mito kids go there...and they are

eating it! I started to share a bit...and got the typical... " it is

too hard " ... " we are not that sick " .... " good for your family, but not

ours " ...as there child was consumed by autism and mito. Everyone

would just stare at us while we ate...while they stuffed their faces

with crap. I was just glad to have a free place to stay that was

clean and very nice...and had a huge kitchen to cook in. Whole Foods

is not far from their. If you go to Atlanta say hi to the

staff...they will remember little kiki.

YOU can lead a horse to water...but you can't make them drink.

Mc House. It won't help with your vacation, but they have a

community kitchen which is great for the diet if you need to travel for medical

care.
