Guest guest
I still read posts from Pecanbread every day and pop in an answer a question I am able to answer. It became increasingly difficult because often the list does not strictly adhere to this guideline posted in the rules periodically by the list owner: " Discussions and advertising of alternative diets, illegal foods, treatments that are not recommended, or other subjects that are not part of the science and practices of SCD are not allowed on the list. " Well there is a lot on the list that is being recommended and since I'm not a moderator it's not on my plate to sort out what is and is not supposed to be recommended. I also realize that members feel the more information they can gather, the better. However, the mission statement on the home page says this is about the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. I see it lately more as leaning to a combination diet and DAN list and I wish if that is what it has become that the mission statement would be changed to reflect that. Some veterans who contribute, or have in past to Pecanbread, have no ASD children and just were anxious to give additional support in relation to the diet. But I know some became discouraged and left because they could not keep their heads above water when many other issues, protocols and treatments were posed as topics. Please believe me, I am not trying to tell parents or list members what they should do, because I am well aware of their preferences. I am just trying to explain why the list has lost some very good helpers over time. Fortunately as dedicated and excellent newcomers gain experience. they able to take up the tasks as the list is about helping each either no just reciiving help from moderators. But as I scanned the topics of the past few days it became confusing and even exhausting. Which makes me wonder. Is it SCD that is really so difficult, or all the intertwined issues?
