Guest guest
I have been struggling for months now and need some tips on how to get more organised with the diet...at the moment he seems to be living on meat!!! He has a good nutritionalist...I think and we are also doing aba...the nutritionalist thinks that the aba overstimulates him and I would agree that he is more hyper since starting this been doing scd for 4 months and aba for 2 months. Has anyone got viw on b12 as i though it should be absorbed orally well but the treat autism now site suggests im injections?
Guest guest
In Btvc Elaine wanted us to use a good B complex as well as B12. This is most helpful the injection form. B12 does not absorb well in a damaged gut. We found success with B12 nasal spray. Ask if your doctor will prescribe this for your little one. It was over 9 months into the diet before Kiki was able to eat everything well. The food intolerance that result due to vicious cycle truly cause our kids food adversions. As he learns that he is no longer sick when he eats...this will likely get better. Anotinette (mom to Kiki-3 cd/autism/MtD

Guest guest
Hi , I have devised a meatloaf which I am giving my son a lot and I can diguise all the new vegs in it. There is no measuring etc, required, I just boil up some minced/ground meat, cook off the veg, blend these together and put three eggs in and then pour it all in greased bread pan and bake it until it looks a it like a cake (about 40 mins or less) If you use carrots and blend it well it almost tastes like cake!!! Anyway my son loves it and it allows me hide all his veg that he wouldn't otherwise eat. > > Hi jenny2ann, > > <<I have been struggling for months now and need some tips on how to > get more organised with the diet...at the moment he seems to be living > on > meat!!!>> > > There are great tips on preparing meals, some sample meal ideas and > great recipes at > http://pecanbread.com/new/scdfoods1.html#tips > http://pecanbread.com/new/scdfoods1.html#menu > http://pecanbread.com/new/recipes1.html > > Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23yrs, PCOD 22yrs, > mom of Em and Dan >
Guest guest
Hi bty462988, I don't quite get the recipe....could you re-post with clearer instructions? How much water with the meat? Do you use the meat water later? Do you put any seasonings in? Thanks, Ellie Thatcher 3 1/2, autism, mild CP, SCD since 3/07 Re: struggling with the diet!!! Guest guest
Hi Ellie, Thats the thing it is a very " fling it together recipe " But I use about; 500 grams of minced meat (beef or lamb or pork) 1/2 peeled corgette, 2 medium sized carrots, one handful of chopped spinach 10 green beens (chopped finely) I boil the mincemeat and veg all together until cooked (about 1/2 and hour) in enough water to cover it - which I then drain away and do not re-use but you could save it for something else I suppose. (you could cook this longer but there will be more cooking in the oven) I then put this all into the blender along with 3 eggs and belnd it until it is fine and runny.... and that is it!! Pour in in a pan and bake it in the oven for about 30-45 mins. You can check it and see if it is cooked inside with a knife (like a cake) and that it is nice and brown on the top..I have kept one in the oven on a low heat for over an hour when I went out and it was fine - just a little firmer. I do not use any seasoning but you could if your child can tolerate it. You could probably even try sweetening it even with honey or more carrot as it really isnt that savoury tasting believe it or not. I also do the same with the chicken pancake recipe - My son is having them for lunch with added beans, spinach, carrot and garlic and they are very tasty and the veg are all hidden.
