Guest guest
For any of you SCDers...especially who are using it for your children...I wanted to let you know about something going on here in the US where I live. On Friday, there was a team of occupational therapists visiting at my son's occupational therapy clinic. The clinic that we use specializes in sensory therapy, and primarily treats kids on the autism spectrum of varying degrees whether it be ADD, ADHD, Asbergers, PDD, autism, and the like. This team will be here for a month. They will return to Australia, and then come back in November for a month. They return home, and come back one other time in January. They are all here to learn how to help these children. Our clinic here provides occupational, physical, and speech therapy. They are most known for the occupational and speech. I'm not sure if any of the team are therapists of speech or physicial therapy. Anyway, the lady who was shadowing my son's therapist was very interested in learning about SCD. She said that Australia is just starting down the road of biomedical intervention, dietariay intervention, ect. in helping our children recover. She asked me the name of the book, if the diet was hard to understand/implement, ect. I gave her a brief explanation, and I am planning to buy a copy of the book for her to read and take home. Are there members of pecan bread living in Australia who would be willing to hook up with her via email or something once she returns home to help her understand SCD better, or be an SCD Pal for any parents that she encourages to move to an SCD lifestyle for their child? I will ask her the name of the town that she lives in. I do know that she said it is inland from Sidney about six hours, is a farming area, and the town begins with a D. I know that probably doesn't tell you anything, but I might recognize the name if I heard it again. Again, I will ask her where she is from, if all of the therapists on the team are from the same place, and would gladly give her someone's contact info or get hers for someone if anyone is interesting in helping move SCD along in Australia. Just let me know. Meleah
