Guest guest
Hi <<but I know we aren't getting hardly any folate in our diet right > now and B12 is on the SCD protocol>> " SCD protocol " ? Do you mean Elaine's recommendations for B vitamins in BTVC. IN BTVC Elaine writes, " never purchase a B complex vitamin with only B1, B2 and Niacin. The minimal members of the B-Complex family which should be included are B1, B2, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid and B6 " . Some people do take B shots etc.. but that isn't SCD. Are you certain you need it? It was suggested to me a few years ago to get B shots. I was told many with GI problems have low B vits. I had all sorts of trouble and went to my doc to ask for shots, she ran tests and my B was too high. I was absorbing what I needed from food and the B complex was too much. My point check to see if it is needed because once on SCD needs can change drastically. If starting with a small dose and slowly increasing doesn't help you might need different forms, if possible. <<Oh and whoever came up with the avocado meatloaf recipe, bravo! My > kids loved it, even my son who hates to eat avocado!!!!>> Might have been me. I started adding avocado to ground beef last year - I loved the flavour it added. It is also yummy with ground chicken. I call the chicken avocado burgers " martian burgers " since they are greenish. I won't tell you what my son calls them!
