Aspartame is also illegal but in BTVC Elaine allowed for an occasional diet drink. I would think the intent is the gum and occasional sugar free candy are the only items containing sorbital which is not to be used in any other application. Carol F. Guest guest
CHILDREN WITH ASD OR OTHER NEUROLOGICAL CONDITIONS SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM ARTIFICIAL SUGARS. THIS IS NOT JUST A SCD MATTER BUT THE LATEST RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THESE ARTIFICIAL SUGARS ARE NEUROTOXIC. There is a book written about this matter. I promise to give the name of the book tomorrow night. Children who have neurological problems have brains that are vulnerable to damage from toxins from bacteria as well as to artificial sugars. The brain body barrier of our kids does not protect our autistic kids but does protect the people with only GI problems from the damage of artificial sugars. When Elaine wrote the book all her patients were people with GI problems. The ASD movement came afterwards when Elaine had decided to retire. I begged her to come back and help the children with autism and other neurological problems. Elaine returned and worked very hard to help us. Elaine agreed with me that children with ASD had a more delicate health situation. The first autistic kids who did SCD could not do the standard SCD without changes. One example was that goat yogurt replaced the yogurt made from cow's milk. Elaine approved all the tweaking that we made to the diet to make it easier for those with very sensitive guts. She was well aware that our children need a more strict version of SCD. Dr Haas noted in his book that children who had occasional illegals continued to have OK digestion but made no improvements with neurological issues.. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE YOUR CHILD ANY OCCASIONAL DIET DRINKS OR CANDY!!! Mimi List Owner > > > > > > > Hi, > > > > > > I'm sorry to have to ask but the website takes precendent over the > > book?
