Guest guest
I read in the autism connection chapter of Breaking the Vicious Cycle that Pamela Ferro developed a modified version of the SCD that eliminates the use of dairy. Could someone please tell me how I can get this? Thank you!!

Guest guest
All you have to do is to not use yogurt and not use any of the recipes that include dairy. It is SCD without dairy. , mom to modified version of the SCD that > eliminates the use of dairy. Could someone please tell me how I can > get this? Guest guest
No soft cheeses like chevre are allowed. The cheeses have to be " hard " and aged a minimum of 30 days. I don't really know the names of very many cheeses, but I know that goat cheddar is one we can have. , mom to > > Does anyone know which goat cheeses are allowed on the diet? > If none, how can I make my own cottage cheese, farmer cheese etc > Thanks in advance, > > > > > ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at > http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour > > >
Guest guest
I have talked to Pamela Ferro many times about the dairy issue. Here are her beliefs: She believes that dairy should be postponed because a bad reaction to dairy might discourage the use of SCD. She has observed that children who do have a bad reaction to the SCD yogurt return to their previous state several days after discontinuing the yogrt. In other words; they quickly recover from a bad reaction to the yogurt. Parents have reported to her the following outcome: children who were unable to tolerate the yogurt had a much better response when the yogurt was dripped for three days. I do feel that parents should wait for a month or more before trying the yogurt. I also agree that the yogurt is better tolerated if it is dripped. I really want to encourage parents to try the yogurt. Sheila, who is the head moderator has observed that ASD children make dramatic improvements in speech and cognition after starting the yogurt. I feel that dairy free SCD is worth a million bucks but that SCD with the yogurt is worth twice as much. It is called Alta Dena. We love it. I buy it at Whole Foods. As far as I know, it is SCD legal. We are not eating now since we have recently begun SCD, but are looking forward to having it again.
