Guest guest
Hi Everyone: I don't have to go back to the Dr. for quite a while so I don't have a whole lot to report. I do continue to lose weight, although very slowly at this point. I am about 6 and a half months out. But since I was on the very high end of average...it's ok. I did just recalculate my BMI and I'm happy to report that it is 30. It was 43 at surgery. Here's what it says about the BMI's: The National Academy of Sciences' diet and health report suggests that a BMI of 22 to 27 is normal for persons 45 to 54 years of age a BMI of 23 to 28 is normal for persons 55 to 65 years of age a BMI of 24 to 29 is normal for persons over 65 years old. So....since my age is 58 (I know, I know, you're thinking " Flo? 58? Nah. The woman only looks 57 " ) I can look at this two ways. I am either two points overweight for my age...or I am too young! I figure, based on the table above...that if I was 85 or so, I would have a perfect BMI. So since I don't want to rush my age, I'll just wait a few months, stay the age I am and I'll squeek into the range of a BMI of 28. Then I'll be a normal person for the first time in my life. LOL...ok...normal physically. This is my lowest weight since I was somewhere between 11 and 13 years of age. So...about 45 years of being fatter than this and I'm still complaining that I'm fat...go figure. As many of you know, my daughter Drema also had surgery. Hers was August 4th. She has lost almost 90 pounds and looks so great! She's below 200 for the first time since she was in high school and looks wonderful! Life is good! Best of the holiday seasons everyone. Flo in land PS...Amy Poe and I are having dinner with Shea on the 21st in Waldorf, land. Anyone want to join us? Then on the 27th another group of us (a from CT, Joyce from KY, Blair from NC, Amy P, Pam Mc, Tania Day and I) are having lunch in Bowie, MD at 11:30 a.m. at Rip's in Bowie. If anyone can make it, please email me for directions.

Guest guest
Gee Flo, I really wish I could join all of you, and then I'd bring my Jude with me.. But, they is no way I can do another trip right now.. I'm holding out to the next picnic and meet everyone (!!!) at that time. Unless we go on our cruise first!! Flo, my BMI was 61 (no wonder everyone was so worried about me) don't know what it is right now, but I'm down over 30 lbs, so it just has to get better and better..
