Guest guest
Thanks for the advise. My daughter is 2 and only now starting to talk. She isn't ASD and no one knows what's going on with her. She's vomits dairy, berries, and some other fruits and is just now about 20 pounds. Before this diet she was on a fat diet of heavy carbs that I know you'd all cringe if you saw. That didn't work. I think her body just can't process the complex carbs. The only symptoms she's ever really had was her developemental delay and constipation before the diet. Never diarrhea (then or now), or anything ASD related. What non-legal items could be introduced assuming all symptoms are gone after a year (or were never present)? I love this diet and the rest of the family has been eating better as well. (I'm not strong enough to give up chocolate!!) I just worry about when she's older and dealing with the strictness of the diet. Cheryl > > > > > > I'm wondering if this is legal or not. Guest guest
I think you have many years of compliance before you have to worry. Kids learn that this is the way our family eats and they get used to it. When she is a little older you can explain that the other foods will make her tummy hurt or something like that that she can relate to. My son is turning 12 and we still have great compliance here. Probably the healthiest way to eat if not on SCD is to follow the advice in the book Nourishing Traditions. Down the road you can get a copy and read up on it. You will find out about healthy foods that might work if and when you leave the diet. , mom to
