Guest guest
Thanks, Ms. Magoo. Never know when this may come in handy. I printed out 3 copies, just in case! PhillyJude

Guest guest
OK List... I have to do whatever I can to avoid insanity. I am a notorious scale-stepper, I admit it. I'm just obsessed I guess (You have your OCD... I've got mine). I created a worksheet to help me NOT PANIC about plateaus... I call it the PANIC PLATEAU PAGE. I admit that I want desperately to be a fast loser (winner). I understand that the average weight loss in the first year is 140 +/- 20 pounds (120-160). But I know that most of it falls off in the first six months. Knowing this, I created a worksheet to help me determine where I should be and if I am a slow, average or a fast loser. If you have these PANIC PLATEAUS as well, use the worksheet to help you determine if you are really at a plateau or is this is a false belief because of some false expectations or if the scale didn't show a loss on a particular day, week or month... Instructions on using the worksheet: Along the second to left hand column, enter your surgery date (or your projected surgery date). Week 1's date should be 7 days later. So if your surgery is 1/1/00, the week 1 date will be 1/8/00. The numbers to the right reflect the amount of pounds lost. My surgery date was 10-25-00. So far I am down anywhere between 34 and 36 pounds (depends on the scale). This is week 7 for me. Even at the fastest projected weight loss, I shouldn't be at a 35 pound weight loss until week 10, yet it's week 7! And in the worst case, if I'm a very slow loser, I shouldn't be down 35 pounds until week 18. So if I don't lose a single pound between now (week 7) and week 18, I'm not on a plateau at all. I'm right were I'm supposed to be. http://www.myminigastricbypass.com/Plateau.htm __________________________________________________
