Guest guest
I have a family member who has been taking 16 billion bacteria a day of probiotics for 2 years. Is it possible to get a candida infection with so many probiotics? She has some BTVC symptoms that I think are linked to the bifidus in the probiotics. So I want to recommend that she stops the probiotics for 2 weeks to see if symptoms improve. But perhaps it is unwise to stop taking the probiotics if it could be candida (because these probiotics are her only source of Acidophilus and high levels of other good strains). Any input? She has celiac. Thanks!!! -
Guest guest
My son and I have been taking a new probiotic for the past 6 months(we used to take Multidophilis-of the market now) which contains bifidus as well as the lactobaccillus as Dr -McBride recommends both strains in her book (Gut and Psychology Syndrome). I did however, order the SCDophillus this morning. I feel fine, but of course the $64,000 questions is the bifidus affecting Blake as he doesn't communicate. You mention Candida. It hasn't given me any yeast issues, but what symptoms would you look for in an adolescent boy? ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
Guest guest
Considering the number of posts on the topic, I would not rule out candida. Can she switch to just legal probiotics for a while? Two weeks may not be enough to feel better. I think is was Charlene who once wrote that after taking bifidus it took her a year to get back to normal. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
