I have been making yogurt in my yogurt maker from Lucy Kitchen, which

makes half gallon. My friend that has a family of 6, 4 kids would like

to know is their a different way that could make larger quantities of

yogurt instead of the half gallon?

How and what can she use?

Get an Excalibur nine tray dehydrator. I make

eight quarts of yogurt at a time in it.

In fact, when I'm having company, I will make

eight quarts of whole milk yogurt in the

dehydrator, and have two quarts of whole cream

and two quarts of half & half yogurt going in my two Yogourmets.

The dehydrator is useful for soooo many other things, too!

I was doing my yogurt in my Yogourmet for a while, and it was just never enough.

Recently, I got an email from Digestive Wellness announcing their new item:

excalibur dehydrator, with its benefits it has for making SCD yogurt. I went

ahead and splurged. I'm so grateful for getting that machine - it's making great

yogurt, and plenty! And I got it at $10 off at their special introductory rate :

Marilyn,

With the dehydrator, is it okay to take all the trays out and put the jars

(mason) directly on the bottom of the dehydrator? Does it make a difference?

Bonita

P. S. Did I say I LOVE my dehydrator!

Well, if it does, I don't know what it is, since

I've always taken all the trays out! LOL! My

worry about trying to put them ON one of the

trays is that as sturdy as those trays are, 8

mason jars full of milk is going to weigh

somewhere around 16 pounds, and I'm not sure they were designed for that!

<grin> I love my TWO dehydrators! That way I can

have yogurt on AND be making meat sticks or crackers, or whatever.
