Guest guest
, I know the www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info site lists melatonin as illegal, but I don't know why. I have nothing on it in my own personal database. I've queried the webmaster about several items there, but don't know when I may hear back, since, like all SCD people, he maintains the web site on a volunteer basis. My own suspicion is this: melatonin derived from animal sources can contain impurities which can be an issue. The standard white melatonin pill or capsule does not have these impurities. As always, you would have to check the particular product you wanted to use to be sure there were no illegal additives. My husband has CFS, and found that melatonin for a few months broke his cycle of being unable to sleep, or stay asleep. He now no longer needs to take it. I, myself used melatonin for several months following Hurricane Katrina. There is legal melatonin listed on the Pecan Bread web site. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
