Excalibur dehydrator... with or without timer?

My DH would like to buy the Excalibur to make our yogurt making go a

bit easier on me timewise. We're starting to eat more volume than I

can keep up with the little Salton maker we got locally.

We have no idea if the timer would be useful or not. Anybody have an

opinion? :-) The price is already very steep for us and we'll be

paying it off for a few months. The timer is an extra $30 which seems

like a lot unless we really find we need it! LOL

cheers,

Bronwyn

Bronwyn,

I have two of the Excalibur 2900s, which I got

from Lucy's Kitchen Shoppe. They don't have

timers. I don't feel I need them. But then, if I

had timers, I'd probably find a handy use for them. <g>

They ARE expensive, and I hesitated about my

first one, but the reason I now have two is

because I can have lots of yogurt magicking away

in one, and use the other for meat sticks, biscotti, drying fruit, whatever....

I truly do not think that you will regret getting an Excalibur!
