Guest guest
Hello all, The GFCF diet has done very little for my 4 yr. old son with autism. We<my wife and I> have been battling his various gut bugs and yeast for about a year now. I want to try the SCD diet, and the first thing I wanted to do was replace 3 of his supplements that are non-SCD compliant. I need suggestions for replacements. I need to replace Kirkman's Spectrum Complete, calcium powder w/vitamin D, and zinc. Kirkman's hypoallergenic calcium powder w/vitamin D appears to be OK. I noticed Brainchild Nutritionals has liquid zinc in flavored and unflavored and says its SCD-compliant, but how can that be as I notice xantham gum as an ingredient? How many use the GI ProChild? Would it make a good alternative to K's SC? By the way, my son gets the majority of his supplements in his beverages. He does not swallow pills, capsules, etc., nor does he take chewables or gummies. Thank you and God bless! Chris
Guest guest
Here is a link explaining why Elaine approved the Brainchild zinc. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pecanbread/message/55547 Here is where the legal supplements are listed. http://www.pecanbread.com/new/Sup1.html It seems that liquid supplements are more likely to have illegals. Could you open up the capsules of a legal multi-vitamin and mix them into applesauce or something? If the contents taste bad, could you open the capsules, mix with a small amount of liquid and squirt into the back of the mouth with a medicine syringe? This technique is used by many for the bad-tasting stuff. I guess it's over quickly that way. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
