Guest guest
Hello everybody!!! Just got back to the hotel from the hospital. This is just so amazing. and I used to wonder if there was some kind of collusion going on for everyone to tell the same wonderful story. But I am here to attest to the fact it is all true! From the time they got me on the operating table until I woke up in recovery is just all a blank. I WAS hurting in recovery, but they took care of me right away. I only remember moaning and groaning for a moment then nothing again until I woke up several hours later in my room. I had surgery at 10 AM, lasted 31 minutes, and by 5 I was walking the halls checking on everybody else. All of our rooms were lined up except for Vicki, just down the hall a little ways. And something NO ONE has mentioned - we had airbeds!! My bed was sooo comfortable. The nurses were all fast and cheerful. This is truly a miracle. I have some soreness, burping a lot <G>. *** NO PAIN ***! I am able to lay on my side without pain. Like so many others have said - it feels like I did a hundred sit-ups - nothing more. There were 6 of us: Vicki Amos Amy Merriman Dressil Evelyn Briggs Krieg Me Everyone is doing well. Vicki is having some trouble with nausea, may have to get the hormonal patch. Until you see Dr. R in action you cannot understand how likable he is. Such charisma - he uses humor to get his point across - but he also makes it clear how very serious this is. Our clinic was unusually long (lots of good questions from the group) but there was not a boring moment. I just ate approx 6 spoonfuls of tomato soup and 2 saltines and am full! I love it! I want to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers. Gloria Dean, Trudy and Prewer all called to check up on us. This has to be the best group of people in the world. So glad I can now call myself a post-op!! Margaret in St. Louis post-op 12/13/00 --- PLegal4U@... wrote: > I wanted to wish you well as you leave for the > airport. Guest guest
Margaret I am sooooooooo happy all went well for you and the others. I think there are only a couple of us next Friday 12/22 since it is just before Christmas. I am sorry I will miss you. I arrive on the 20th. Please relax and take good care of yourself Margaret. Am looking forward (just a little scared) to joining you. Joni MGB 12/
Guest guest
Hey Joni, I want you to know that I was more than just a little scared right before I had my surgery.. When Barb gave me and Jude or dates I just sat at the computer thinking " what have I gotten myself into? " All of a sudden all the time, and work ( it took to get where I'd wanted to go) and I was afraid I'd made the wrong the decision!! I remained scared until I met Dr. R. at clinic! After meeting with him, and discussing the surgery thoroughly I had a calm come over me that I didn't kow existed.. I put this all in God's hands along time ago (I started looking into WLS in May, 2000) and even tho. I've snatched it back out of His hands so many times, I'd always give it back to Him! After meeting with Dr. Rutledge I felt like being in both God's hands and Dr. Rutledge's I was in a safe place! Not too worry about being scared, we've all been there... You're gonna be just fine. You're in my prayers, along with everyone else getting ready for the Dance! Sincerely, Trudy :>) Re: MARGARET IN ST. LOUIS Margaret I am sooooooooo happy all went well for you and the others. Guest guest
Hi Margaret -- here -- not sure if you remember me or not, but you were very helpful and supportive when I was struggling for my date to dance. So good to hear that you and Vicky Amos crossed over so gracefully. Congratulations!!! I can only imagine how you felt in the airport after you were home again -- I am so looking forward for my chance to say that -- It's coming fast, and I am so excited, and so very thankful. Take care and God bless. from Bay City, Michigan MGB 12/
